Eyesight Problems: Macular Degeneration (AMD)
Age related Macular Degeneration is an eye disease that affects the central part of the retina (known as the macula) and causes visual loss. It can be gradual (DRY type) or sudden (WET). It mainly affects the elderly, especially women in their 60’s. We provide special low vision assessments for our patients if their vision is significantly reduced or if they are registered partially sighted and not under the care of the Eye Hospital.
